At Natchitoches Coalition on Homelessness, our mission is to provide temporary shelter and support to homeless individuals in our community. We believe that everyone deserves a safe and comfortable place to call home, and we work tirelessly to make that a reality.

We offer temporary housing assistance and a monthly community share a meal program on the last Thursday of every month to residents of Natchitoches.

The Natchitoches Coalition on Homelessness (NCOH) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization providing temporary housing assistance and a monthly share a meal to Natchitoches’ poverty-stricken residents. Since 2015, we have worked to assist individuals and families in need.
NCOH was founded due to the lack of emergency shelter in Natchitoches Parish. At the present time, people in need of shelter must be sent to other cities (Shreveport, Alexandria, Many) to find shelter. NCOH couldn’t stand to see our struggling neighbors forced to seek services outside of OUR PARISH. Therefore, NCOH took action to provide temporary shelter to keep people experiencing homelessness right here in the community, where they can access support services.

Our Impact
Since 2015, Natchitoches Coalition on Homelessness has provided an average of 667 meals a year to the community.
We conducted community outreach following hurricanes Harvey and Ida, preparing and serving food in Beaumont, Texas, Rock Port, Louisiana, and Galliano, Louisiana to assist with relief efforts.
So far in 2023, we have served: 12- Single women, 9- Men, and 5- Families with hotel stays.
